Harnessing the youth power.

युवा शक्ति की पहचान

The greatest wealth and strength of any nation is its youth. The future of a nation lies in the hand of its prosperity. The quality of its youth determines the kind of future the nation will have. Therefore, if we want to ensure a bright future for our country, we first need to strengthen and empower youth. The youth of any nation and society are its potential energy. They are the powerhouse and storehouse of infinite energy. They are the ones who are the pride of a nation.

It's the youth who bring laurels to their country. The power of youth can be sighted only by maintaining a few names of which every single Indian is proud of, such as Sachin Tendulkar, Viswanathan Anand, P. V. Sindhu, Hima Das, Leander Paes and so on. The very mention of these names fills the heart of an average Indian with pride.

These are only a few examples of all the sung and unsung heroes and heroines who have left their imprints on the sands of time and have led their country forward. The best and the first and foremost way to strengthen our youth is to provide them education — not just any kind of education, but the right kind of education which makes them scientific, logical, open-minded, self-respecting, responsible, honest and patriotic.

Above all, we must focus on constructively using the power of our youth for the betterment of the nation. Let us frame such policies which aim at empowering our youth so that we may be assured of a better future and a brighter tomorrow.

Competition in the modern age.

आधुनिक युग की प्रतिस्पर्धा

My dear students — the hopes of tomorrow. In school we compete for better grades, in sports and games we try our best to beat the other competitors, the commercial world is an ongoing race for more profits, countries try to outdo other countries by means of pace. As a whole, the human race has changed itself into a mighty round of competition. No one is spared. The winner reaps his gains; the loser withdraws to compete another day.

Competition is very much a part of modern life. In every sphere of human activity, there is some form of competition going on, be it to a larger or smaller degree. Some of us cope well. There are some who fall by the wayside. Yet there are some who shun competition, preferring not to get involved. Competitiveness has spilled over into our every-day life. Nobody actually knows why we study so hard to get better grades. We only know that we have got to have good grades in order to further our education — and we further our education so that we may get a good job, and so on, and so forth.

Above all, as long as we compete, we will have to put up with the bad effects as well as enjoy the good effects. We will have to suffer increased unemployment while we produce more graduates. We will have to live with pollution as we produce more cars and motorcycles. We will see more broken limbs as we see more goals scored. In short, the bad always comes with the good. We have to live with this fact.

Moreover, for those who do well, competition allows them to develop and realise their abilities — but for those who don't do well, competition suggests that they look inward and prepare themselves for the next round.
